Guidelines for disciplined, responsible, and effective use of library resources

Library Policy Overview

 

The school library is a center of learning that supports academic growth, reading habits, research skills, and intellectual curiosity. All students and staff members are expected to follow the library rules strictly to maintain discipline, order, and respect for shared resources.

General Library Rules

 
  1. Students must enter the library in a disciplined and orderly manner.
  2. Silence must be maintained at all times inside the library.
  3. Library cards must be produced while issuing or returning books.
  4. Only registered members are permitted to borrow library materials.
  5. Personal belongings should be kept outside as per library instructions.
  6. Food, drinks, and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.

Issue & Return Rules

 
  • Books must be returned on or before the due date.
  • Late return of books will attract a fine as decided by the school.
  • Reference books, magazines, and newspapers are not issued for home reading.
  • Borrowed books should be handled with care and kept in good condition.
  • Students must ensure books are properly stamped and recorded at the time of issue.

Loss or Damage of Books

 
  • Any damage, marking, or tearing of books is strictly prohibited.
  • Lost or damaged books must be replaced by the borrower.
  • If replacement is not possible, the borrower must pay the cost of the book.
  • Library privileges may be suspended in case of repeated violations.

Discipline & Conduct

 

The library is a shared academic space and must be treated with respect. Students are expected to cooperate with library staff and follow all instructions. Any misconduct may lead to disciplinary action as per school rules.
